As the chief executive officer of SunGard Availability Services, Andy’s strategic priorities include accelerating the growth of new innovative products, delivering exceptional service and value to our customers, and maintaining a focus on and the financial health and effectiveness of Availability Services’ overall business.
Andy joins us after ten years at USinternetworking, Inc. (acquired by AT&T in 2006), where he served as chief executive officer from 2000 to 2008; chief operating officer 1999 to 2000; and executive vice president and chief financial officer from 1998 to 1999, he also chaired USi's Board.
Prior to joining USi, Andy was executive vice president, strategy and reinsurance operations, at USF&G, a $14 billion asset multi-line insurance company. At USF&G, Andy was responsible for approximately 20 percent of the company's business, its growth-oriented M&A program, strategy and corporate marketing. Andy led the corporate strategy efforts that eventually culminated in the merger of USF&G with The St. Paul Companies.
Previously, Andy was a vice president and partner at Booz-Allen & Hamilton. There, he developed and implemented corporate and business strategies for clients in the media, commercial aviation, and information industries.
Andy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago.
