Larry Coble, senior vice president and general manager, recovery services, leads the growth and expansion of SunGard Availability Services business continuity and disaster recovery services. Collaborating closely with his managed hosting counterparts, Larry works to ensure that SunGard provides the highest, most consistent level of information availability services to its customers.
Larry was previously the vice president and general manager of the Energy Automation Solutions business unit of Cooper Power Systems. Larry led the creation and growth of the Energy Automation Solutions business that was focused on providing integrated software, hardware, and communication solutions to enable electric utilities to automate the electric grid.
Larry joined Cooper in 2005 from McKinsey & Company, where he served a wide range of clients in the telecommunications and technology industries. Prior to McKinsey, Larry was an engineering manager at Corning, Inc. supporting the optical fiber operations in the telecommunications product division. Previously, he served in the US Navy in several leadership positions on board a nuclear powered submarine.
Larry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Duke University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.
