Without a comprehensive disaster recovery plan, effectively responding to system failures, regulatory requirements and outages can be virtually impossible. Yet a lack of resources leaves many organizations without a full disaster recovery solution—and at considerably greater risk for unplanned downtime.
With the Managed Recovery Program (MRP), Sungard Availability Services delivers the complete set of people, processes, and tools that your organization needs to ensure comprehensive, compliant and effective testing and data recovery.
Based on more than 30 years of recovery expertise, MRP is the first service that mitigates the root causes of your recovery challenges—by systematically managing every stage of the process. As a result, your organization can be confident it hasn’t missed a critical step in its disaster recovery plan, procedure development, implementation, or operation.
Assured disaster recovery, fully managed by Sungard AS
The Managed Recovery Program is structured around the specific needs of your business and the requirements of your applications.
When you choose MRP, Sungard AS assumes full accountability for your data recovery program and your overall disaster recovery management. We assign a dedicated Service Delivery Manager (SDM) to your organization. He or she acts as an extension of your team, reducing the cost and time required to send your own staff to a recovery site. The SDM has expert knowledge of your recovery program, including the workflow, timeline, and communication procedures. A single point of contact, your SDM coordinates test planning, test execution, test monitoring, post-test reporting, and the post-test reviews during which both your team and Sungard AS analyze results and identify gaps in your disaster recovery plan. During an actual recovery, the SDM is the liaison between your organization and the Sungard AS recovery team.
With MRP, Sungard AS disaster recovery planning and recovery management experts:
- Develop and maintain application and data recovery programs to meet required recovery time and recovery point objectives (RTO/RPO), with complete procedure documentation
- Perform recovery management procedures by policy during testing and recovery, including restoring your network, operating systems, and backup application data
- Deliver audit-ready reports on a monthly and quarterly basis, with actionable recommendations
MRP: An advantage every day
Using change management best practices, your Service Delivery Manager ensures configuration changes in your production environment are integrated with those in the recovery environment. This allows Sungard AS to help identify missing patches in your production environment, as well as production-side changes that could impact recovery. Additionally, the Sungard AS supplied recovery runbooks can be used to help speed partial recovery in your primary applications environment.
