Earlier this year, we announced plans to double the size of our data centre in Sätra, south of Stockholm, and we’re delighted to announce the facility is now complete and open for business. Close to 100 guests attended the opening event in August. In fact, it already has its first customer with the signing of Coromatic, the leading Nordic critical communications provider.
The expanded Data Centre 2 (DC2) site means we are once again able to offer customers in Sweden a dual-site solution that is one of the cornerstones of resilience. DC2 holds ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001 certifications and offers a PCI DSS-accredited production environment for customers requiring high availability.
Sweden CEO Håkan Björklund says a key factor in the data centre’s appeal is its hybrid capability. “We built this facility in response to customer feedback that they are facing this challenge,” he points out. “Many have systems that are not suitable for the cloud and we want to provide them with a complete solution. A hybrid approach appeals to companies that want to take advantage of the cloud’s benefits while continuing to run their legacy systems in-house.”
