Always a forward thinking industry, Financial Services (FS) organisations have been kept on their toes in recent years thanks to a significant shift in culture, caused in part by new technologies made possible through cloud computing. The introduction of digital banking has changed the sector's relationship with customers.

Transactions are no longer made during 'working hours' but run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This new model of working can be somewhat unpredictable. FS organisations need to be online at all times, and able to service customers at any time, regardless of online traffic demands. In this instance, availability and infrastructure flexibility are crucial.
