Many businesses in Ireland saw the pandemic as an opportunity to accelerate their transformation plans and prepare their organisations for a more flexible working environment.
At the start of 2021, it was suggested that more than 97% of businesses now use at least one public cloud instance, with over 78% using a mix of public and private cloud services.
This move though has still brought many issues to the fore. Firstly, many IT leaders are having to handle larger than anticipated bills – not a conversation you want to be having too often with your board. In addition, the big platform providers such as AWS, Azure and Google provide services with a wide range of functionality but getting the most out of those platforms effectively can be a challenge.
