Sungard AS Achieves AWS Milestone for Third Year in a Row
WAYNE, Pa.— November 2, 2020—Sungard Availability Services (Sungard AS), a leading provider of highly-available, cloud connected infrastructure in North America and Europe, today announced acceptance into the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Managed Service Provider (MSP) Partner Program. This marks the third year in a row in which Sungard AS has been accepted into the program.
The AWS MSP Partner Program recognizes and validates leading AWS Consulting Partners that are highly skilled at providing full lifecycle solutions to customers. Next-generation AWS MSP Partners can help enterprises invent tomorrow, solve business problems and support initiatives by driving key outcomes. AWS MSP Partners provide the expertise, guidance and services to help companies work through each stage of the cloud adoption journey: plan and design, build and migrate, run and operate, and optimize.
The AWS MSP Partner Program validation process consists of a rigorous multi-day onsite audit performed by an independent, third-party auditor. It aims to confirm the AWS Partner’s ability to provide next-generation managed services and capabilities in cloud architecture, automation, optimization and management to its clients’ AWS environments.
“Sungard AS is pleased once again to receive the AWS MSP Partner designation,” said Jim Paterson, Executive Vice President of Sungard AS. “With this designation, we join an exclusive group of AWS MSP Partners, differentiated by focusing on the delivery of resilient, recoverable IT solutions on AWS. Our Next-gen Managed AWS team has sole responsibility to architect, develop, deliver and continuously improve customers’ AWS solutions and engage with them throughout the cloud adoption lifecycle.”
By migrating to and building on AWS, companies around the world are re-defining what is possible. The explosive growth of technology solutions available from AWS and AWS Partners, combined with the need for faster and more agile solution development, raises many questions for companies seeking to modernize their business.
At a high level, AWS expects that a next-gen AWS MSP partner is committed to three key tenets:
Educate customers on a proactive, ongoing basis, offering consultative and advisory services. Next-gen MSPs go beyond the break/fix relationship to become a trusted advisor to their customers.
Lead with AWS Professional Services, just as a systems integrator (SI) would. Next-gen AWS MSPs must establish themselves as expert advisors from the very first interaction, using in-house talent and bringing in third-parties or SIs only when necessary, employing these one-off engagements as training opportunities to further build and train their bench.
Advocate to customers the use and evolution of AWS services. Next-gen AWS MSPs move up the stack from the operating system layer and into application-level services.
Following these tenets, the structure and approach of the Sungard AS Next-Gen Managed AWS team is centered on combining top AWS experts into a singular organization to provide a modern MSP experience to customers, putting top AWS talent front and center to consult and lead the design of well-architected AWS solutions.
The AWS MSP Partner Program was created to help customers identify validated AWS Consulting Partners that are skilled at cloud infrastructure and application migration, and deliver value to customers by offering proactive monitoring, automation and environment management. AWS MSP Partners are fundamental to helping customers take advantage of AWS.
