Virtual Roundtable: Making the most of Public Cloud in Ireland

    September 21, 2021

    Virtual Conference

Many businesses in Ireland saw the pandemic as an opportunity to accelerate their transformation plans and prepare their organisations for a more flexible working environment.

At the start of 2021, it was suggested that more than 97% of businesses now use at least one public cloud instance, with over 78% using a mix of public and private cloud services.

This move though has still brought many issues to the fore. Firstly, many IT leaders are having to handle larger than anticipated bills – not a conversation you want to be having too often with your board. In addition, the big platform providers such as AWS, Azure and Google provide services with a wide range of functionality but getting the most out of those platforms effectively can be a challenge.

During this virtual boardroom session, we’ll look at some of the key talking points as businesses continue their cloud journey including platforms, cost and resilience, plus:

    • Overcoming bill shock and how to manage your environments cost effectively.
    • Understanding that recovery still needs to be considered, as using multiple cloud environments does not necessarily make your infrastructure resilient.
    • Choosing the right cloud for your applications
    • Addressing skills gaps within your IT staff when managing public cloud environments
    • Making the most of the flexibility within public cloud
