Supervalu Inc. on Tuesday said it plans to replace its legacy mainframe technology infrastructure and shift workloads to the cloud.
The move, in partnership with managed IT, cloud and recovery services firm SunGard Availability Services, seeks to reduce costs and boost flexibility for its network of 2,000 owned, franchised and affiliated grocery stores.
Chad Mead, Supervalu’s chief technology officer, said the company is seeking to “strengthen operations across our enterprise” by transforming its approach to technology.
